    Reporting to the Assistant Director of Engineering Services, the Capital Works Coordinator will provide expertise in design and construction of capital projects in accordance with municipal, regional and provincial standards. The Capital Works Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day technical support relating to infrastructure for municipal and land development projects related to subdivisions, road works, site servicing and storm water management. Assists in the preparation and review of engineering drawings from conceptual development through to final design and construction in areas of site grading, servicing plans and municipal infrastructure.

    Under the direction of the Director of Public Works and the Manager of Roads and Sewers the Engineering Technician is responsible for the inspection of roadways, sidewalks and signs on a regular basis. Reviewing and evaluating the existing conditions to prepare work orders to be carried out at a later date. Inspection of sanitary and storm sewer connections. Inspection of subdivision and site plan controlled development for compliance with agreements. Operate CCTV Inspection Vehicle and prepare reports of same.

    The position is also responsible for the review of development submissions, subdivision agreement and construction monitoring (wastewater/storm water/streets) including securities determination/collection and release; public transit; parking by-law enforcement; management of capital projects; municipal systems mapping/GIS strategies maintenance; and the development and maintenance of engineering design standards. The department is responsible for implementing policies of Council and directives of the Chief Administrative Officer, as directed by the Director, and making recommendations to the Director, regarding the revision of policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness of services, public relations, and general engineering pertaining to the Municipality, any assistance that may be required by the various boards and departments of the Municipality, and any other related works.

    Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Planning, the Supervisor of Transportation Planning is responsible for leading and managing a multidisciplinary infrastructure planning team to develop Region-wide transportation infrastructure strategies and long term development capital implementation plans. Key areas of accountability include the completion of transportation review of development applications, master plans, Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Studies, development charges, background technical studies, and infrastructure staging plans which are integral to the Regionís Development Charge Bylaw and Allocation Programs.
