The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) outlines a procedure whereby Municipalities can comply with the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act.

The MCEA was updated and approved for use on Sept 6th 2007 and is available in Hard copy, through on line viewing by subscription with enhanced search capabilities and other features as well as through a simple free view process. Note this is copyrighted material and is not to be duplicated.

Monitoring

As a condition of our latest approval, MOE requires MEA to Monitor the use of the Municipal Class EA and document how the MCEA is consistent with Class Environmental Assessing Program objectives. The annual monitoring reports examine the use of the Municipal Class EA and comments on issues that have been raised. Note that because of the ongoing MCEA update reporting requirements for 2006 and 2007 have been set aside.
