2019 MEA Bursary Award Winners

The MEA is pleased to announce it is awarding eleven (11) bursaries this summer to assist children/dependents of municipal employees/elected councillors who have enrolled in an Engineering Program at the University level for the upcoming 2019/2020 academic year.

The MEA values the contribution of all municipal employees, is committed to the continued technical excellence of our future municipal engineers, is sensitive to serving the community and the need for effective communication skills.

This is the 12th consecutive year the MEA is awarding bursaries to engineering students. Since the inception of the Bursary Program in 2008, the MEA has awarded 101 bursaries totalling $121,500.

This year’s bursary award winners……

Jake Kawalec, whose parents both work for the City of Peterborough, submitted the highest scoring application – he is being awarded the John Hammer Memorial Bursary valued at $2,000. 

Ten additional bursaries valued at $1,500 each are being awarded to:

Congratulations to all the 2019 Bursary Award recipients. We hope to have one or two of the winners recognized at the President’s Banquet (November 28, 2019) during the Annual Fall Workshop at the Blue Mountain Resort.
